Medical therapeutic training

Medical therapeutic training, or MTT for short, aims to strengthen the musculoskeletal system and increase endurance in a targeted way through individualised training. This involves mobility, coordination and strengthening exercises, as well as training the cardiovascular system.

The difference between fitness training and medical therapy (MTT)

Unlike fitness training, modern physiotherapy today offers a return to normal mobility using medical therapeutic training. The main indications for medical therapeutic training are to improve mobility, support rehabilitation processes and improve impaired physical function. But the rule of medical therapeutic training is to do yourself good while undergoing corrective treatment. The ability to move on one’s own and reduce pain, particularly in cases of chronic or post-operative pain, is achieved through constant support, a personalised therapeutic programme and short, effective training modules.

For which patients is medical therapeutic training suitable?

Medical therapeutic training can be used:

  • Musculoskeletal disorders (e.g. pre- or post-operative, fitness etc.)
  • Chronic pain or overuse problems
  • Combating reduced physical performance or physical resistance
  • Neuro-musculo-skeletal disorders (NMSS), which refer to dysfunctions of the NMSS system (pain, clumsiness, stiffness or loss of muscular strength during movement)
  • Improving strength, endurance and mobility.

Medical therapeutic training, generally provided by qualified physiotherapists, is suitable for people of all ages, with a variety of objectives. This therapy is often prescribed by a doctor, which means that the costs are covered by the health insurance fund.

Although one or two sessions are needed at the beginning to discuss the programme and define it individually, the exercises can then be practised independently for around 3 months.

MEDICAL FITNESS MTT

Indicated disorders

Medical therapeutic training is particularly aimed at people with the following limitations, in consultation with the physiotherapist:

  • chronic musculoskeletal pain ;
  • rheumatic pain ;
  • back pain;
  • rehabilitation following an operation;
  • osteoporosis; osteoarthritis ;
  • diseases of the respiratory or cardiovascular system;
  • reduced physical performance.

Why choose Physio Mob medical therapeutic training?

At the start of their sessions, patients are taught to train with our physiotherapists, benefiting from personalised, comprehensive and in-depth care and monitoring. At the end of the treatment, patients can return at the request of their GP, asking for a follow-up Fitness Médical treatment (MTT). The patient will then be able to continue his or her programme independently for a maximum of 3 months, at a rate of 2-3 times a week. During their periods of Medical Fitness, they will always have a Physiotherapist in the room, in case they have any questions or concerns.
